Thank you for attending the 2017 Special Education Principals’ and Leaders’ (SEPLA) Conference at the Novotel Parramatta, on the 17th, 18th and 19th July 2017.

The theme for the 2017 Conference was It’s Time - Leadership, Innovation, Equity, Support. We focused on sharing what works with students with additional learning needs. It’s Time to learn from those who are leading, innovating, and providing equity and support in their schools and classrooms. Being a leader in your classroom. Innovating and extending learning opportunities for your students. Sharing how equitable access to resources is supporting learning. Thank you for taking this professional learning journey with us…It’s Time!

The SEPLA  Conference Committee once again decided to host the Teachers’ Day on Monday 17th July which coincided with the Term 3 School Development Day. This allowed schools to send their mainstream and special education teachers and leaders at minimal cost.

Tuesday 18th July and Wednesday 19th July focused on the professional learning of school leaders and administrators at all career levels in special education.

Special education occurs in everyone’s classroom and school. We were inspired by fantastic professional learning and great collegial company.  Allowing delegates to build professional relationships and networks to lead, innovate, maximise equity and support in schools. We enjoyed exchanging expertise in special education and leadership. Enhancing wellbeing and professional resilience by taking some time for professional learning and reflection.
